A few weeks ago, I have shared that the present moment is all you have.
Of course, I still agree with myself (and no, that’s not a given 😊), but I must admit that I sometimes like to look back and see how far I have come.
A few years ago, I left France. It took me a while to accept that I could still offer high standard admin and accounting services in another language. I doubted myself for a long time, always applying for supporting position rather than managing ones etc. After a few years I realised that I was able to help any businesses with my skill sets even if I have a weird French/Yorkshire accent, and I have founded The Office Elf.
All this came from reflecting on my English level following some work I am doing for a new customer. It involves a LOT of technical knowledge. And I was proud to realise that I am doing it, I am supporting them in another language, and it is working. The funny thing is that I am not even sure that I would have the knowledge to do that in French.
What about you?
Can you pinpoint something that happened to you this week that shows how far you’ve come?
